Kami Companion's accessibility tools are designed to create an inclusive learning environment for all students. They offer a comprehensive suite of features that address diverse needs.

Reading Assist Tools

These tools are particularly beneficial for students who struggle with focus, visual tracking, or reading comprehension.

How to use

Open the Reading Assist Menu

Click the "Reading Assist" button in the Kami Companion toolbar.

Select a Reading Assist Mode

Click one of the Reading Assist Modes to enable them.

Adjust Reading Assist Settings

Change the look of the Reading Assist Modes by clicking the "Settings" button

Immersive Reader

The Immersive Reader opens your webpage in a distraction-free reading view with additional support tools.

How to use

Open the Immersive Reader

Click the "Immersive Reader" button to convert your webpage into the immersive reading view.

Adjust your Immersive Reader Preferences

You can change the settings of the reader by clicking one of the 3 "Preferences" buttons at the top right corner.

Close the Immersive Reader

Click the "Back" arrow in the top left corner of the reader to return to your webpage's default view.

Voice Typing

This feature is designed to empower all learners, especially those who may find traditional typing challenging or prefer to express themselves verbally.

How to use

Enable Voice Typing Mode

Click the "Voice Typing" button in the Kami Companion toolbar.

Allow Microphone Access

If this is your first time using your microphone with your webpage, you may see a pop-up asking you to allow Kami Companion to use it. Simply click "Allow while visiting the site" to give access.

Start speaking

When Voice Typing is turned on, a purple "Speak" icon appears in the textbox where you're typing.

Adjust Voice Typing Settings

Click the "EN" button to open the settings menu. Here you can change you language and enable Voice Punctuation

Predictive Text

This tool significantly boosts typing efficiency and spelling accuracy by suggesting words as you write. This intelligent tool empowers diverse learners—from those with learning differences to English Language Learners—to communicate more confidently and independently.

How to use

Enable Predictive Text Mode

Click the "Predictive Text" button in the Kami Companion toolbar.

Start typing text

Select any textbox on your webpage and start typing to get word suggestions from Kami Companion. Simply click the suggested word to insert it into the textbox.

Adjust Predictive Text Settings

Click the "EN" button to open the settings menu. Here you can change your language or enable Spelling assist and Read on hover.
